Mike Teare BSc
Originally qualified in electronics Mike has spent the last 15 years managing IT resources
and software development.
Coming from hardware roots, Mike's initial foray into software took him into what has now
become known as embedded systems and in particular, into microprocessor based measuring
instruments.
After joining Moore & Wright in 1981 he developed what became the UK's first commercial
quality control software for personal computers and took part in the management buyout of
the Microsystems division from the Neill Tools group to form Cadar.
Since then Mike has been responsible for Cadar's software development program and, as happens
in small companies, found himself managing the IT resources too - networks, servers, bespoke
database applications, CRM systems and, more recently, the company's internet presence. He is
all too aware of the difficulties and pitfalls of introducing IT to small companies but believes
that the benefits are worthwhile and that the internet in particular can give smaller companies
the chance to compete on equal terms with anyone - worldwide.
