Basically our objective is to give you practical and down to earth advice on how you can develop
your business to embrace and benefit from ICT - Information and Communication Technology - and the internet.
We'll give you help and support where you need it and show how you can actually become more agile and
efficient through ICT rather than just copying what others appears to be doing.
Whether you are a 'one man band' looking to make the first step on to the internet
or a larger SME looking to regain control of your company's information, we have expertise you need.
Abbeydale Associates' consultants can review your hardware or software needs and give recommendations
that will fit your business. There's little point in getting all fired up over how you could
make use of a network of the latest whizz bang hardware if there's only you and the cat to run both it and
the rest of your business!
We aim to find a 'right size solution', to help you plan it's introduction and put the plan into action
too if need be. In many cases we will start with a structured ICT 'health check' reviewing your
current situation and highlighting both problem areas and growth potential. The result will be a
detailed report and step by step action plan.

W. Burns and Son - a case study
This is a well respected 3rd generation contracting company of some 75 years, with 8 employees,
NICEIC approval, ECA and Constructionline registered.
Starting from a very low level of ICT skill and little more than a general idea that there must be
something to be gained from ICT, this company was led through a step by step plan over 18 months.
With consistent support and training they were able to progress from relying almost totally on an
electric typewriter for most of the business systems and paperwork, to using Microsoft Office
applications for all letters, quotations and invoices. Adoption of email and computerised accounts
soon followed, as did a database for customer records. The company found itself in the position
of telling clients what equipment they had and when it should be inspected or updated rather than
just reacting to customer requests. The ICT experience culminated in the creation of a web site
as a source of information for both current and potential clients, and a resource that will grow as
the business does, providing new ground for marketing, supplier management and research.
